About Us
A home for Brazilian art, culture, and community
Learn who Arte Do Brasil is, how we are organized, and the values that guide every program we run.
Our history and background
Arte Do Brasil was founded by artists, educators, and community members who shared a concern: that many children and families had little access to cultural education, and that local traditions risked being forgotten. They came together to create an organization that would make art accessible and keep Brazilian heritage alive.
From the beginning, Arte Do Brasil focused on practical, hands-on activities — painting and drawing workshops, exhibitions of children's and young people's artwork, cultural talks, and events that bring generations together. Young participants exhibit their work publicly, receive certificates of participation, and are celebrated by their families and communities.
Today, Arte Do Brasil continues to grow its programs from its base in Boa Vista, Roraima, while maintaining the same founding principle: culture belongs to everyone, and every person deserves the chance to create.
Legal status
Arte Do Brasil is a legally registered non-profit organization under Registration No. W133014423. It does not distribute profits; all resources are reinvested in its cultural and social mission.
Governance
The organization is led by a board responsible for strategy, financial oversight, and compliance. Decisions are documented, and program leaders report on activities and results to ensure accountability.
Community commitment
We prioritize free or low-cost participation, inclusive access for people of all backgrounds and abilities, and safe, welcoming spaces for children and young people.
Our core values
Cultural Integrity
We present Brazilian traditions respectfully and accurately, working with the communities and artists who carry them, and crediting their knowledge.
Transparency
Our registration, contact details, and the purpose of our activities are public. We answer questions about our work openly and keep clear records.
Collaboration
We partner with schools, cultural centers, families, and artists, believing that shared effort creates deeper and longer-lasting results.
Community Empowerment
We aim to leave communities stronger: with new skills, new leaders, and new confidence in their own cultural voice.
